DESCRIPTION:Rebecca is a writer and journalist\, born in London\, grew up in Dorset\, went to Oxford University\, then studied and settled in New York and began writing for The New Yorker. In 2018 she returned to live in the UK after 30 years in the USA. Her book Home/Land is a memoir exploring the themes of identity\, nationality and inheritance. In The Road to Middlemarch she writes passionately about her relationship to this much-loved Victorian novel and shows how we can live richer lives through engaging with great literary works. \nShe will discuss both books in conversation. \nNote that this event is not in the library hall while works are being undertaken. \nThere is no need to register – just arrive on the evening!
